  • UnionBank received the Best Cash Management Bank in the Philippines Award at the Global Banking and Finance Review 2016 Awards. This is a back-to-back feat for the Bank as it was also named the Most Innovative Cash Management Bank last year.
  • The Bank’s Philippine Peso Fixed Income Portfolio, Dollar Bond Portfolio and Long Term Fixed Income Portfolio were awarded top 3 among the best managed fund for bond fund medium-term peso, medium-term dollar and long-term peso categories, respectively. Given during the Philippine Retail Investors Conference, the Best Managed Funds Awards was in line with CFA Society’s thrust of educating retail investors by introducing them to risk-adjusted performance.
  • UnionBank’s dedication to providing quality products and services was further validated after the Bank successfully passed its 1st surveillance audit last November 23, 2016, as conducted by TUV Rheinland. Quality has definitely gone viral at UnionBank as four business units have already been ISO certified including the Bank’s Front-line and Backroom operations.
  • UnionBank wins two prestigious International Banker Banking Awards: Best Innovation in Retail Banking Philippines 2016 and Best Commercial Bank of the Year Philippines 2016. Honored with double awards to acknowledge and celebrate its innovation and leadership in the areas of retail and commercial banking in the Philippines, UnionBank has achieved a prominent position on the 2016 International Banker Asia and Australasian Banking Awards list. These Awards also further highlight UnionBank’s Jan-Sept 2016 Results which already exceed that of the whole of 2015.
  • UnionBank  was recognized as the “Best Company to Work For” at the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES) held recently at the Shangri-La Singapore. ACES showcases Asia’s finest responsible corporate leaders. It honors successful individuals and companies in Asia in terms of leadership and corporate social responsibility. In this case, the winning company has showed institutionalized programs and measures to ensure that they attract top talents and effectively make them want to stay in the company. According to the ACES management, UnionBank is one of the best companies to work for because of “its great culture and its strong leadership team.” Team members are encouraged to be their best and are supported in their efforts to succeed. There is also a strong sense of belonging and community in the organization.
  • UnionBank was named one of the Best Employer Brands in the Asian region at the 7th Asia’s Best Employer Brand Awards held last August 4, 2016 at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Marina Square, Singapore. The award recognizes companies who have displayed excellence in building its Employer Brand as an Employer of Choice.
  • UnionBank and its leaders win big at the 6th Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2016. The Bank was honored with the Best Investor Relations Company Award. It has been a consistent awardee since 2014. Chairman and CEO Dr. Justo A. Ortiz, on the other hand, was named Asia’s Best CEO in the arena of Investor Relations.
  • UnionBank was recently awarded the newest ISO 9001:2015 Certification, and acknowledged to be the first bank in the Philippines to be certified. Primarily, this was driven with the Channel Management Center's passing of the rigorous SO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) for the Bank’s Branch Operations Management (BOM), Central Processing Services (CPS), and Customer Service (CSG) Groups.
  • UnionBank won two Anvil Awards at the 51st Anvil Awards, held last February 26, 2016 at the Rizal Ballroom, Makati Shangri-la Hotel –  a Gold for Lumina Pandit, a collaboration with the University of Santo Tomas Miguel de Benavides Library and the University Archives, that aims to conserve, preserve, digitize, and publish centuries-old books and documents which showcase the rich history and values of the Filipinos; and a Silver Anvil in Specialized PR Programs, specifically for the Issue Management or Crisis Communications subcategory.
  • UnionBank received 7 important awards from the World HRD Congress, held last February 15 -17, 2016 in Mumbai, India – the awards were from the following recognizing events:
    • 24th Global HR Excellence Awards for CEO of the Year - an award to Mr. Justo A. Ortiz, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer; and an award to UnionBank as Organization with Innovative HR Practices 
    • 10th Employer Branding Awards - awards UnionBank with Best Employer Brand of the Year; an Award for Excellence in Training; and an Award for Innovation in Career Development
    • 5th Dream Companies to Work for Awards - an award to Mr. Justo A. Ortiz as CEO of the Year; and an award to UnionBank as Organization with Innovative HR Practices
