Flagship Programs

Future Leaders Formed

Finding tangency with UnionBank’s aim of molding our youth, UnionBank’s CPSR supports the Young Minds Academy (YMA) of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI). YMA is a youth leadership development program that targets high school and college students from public and private schools to develop young emerging leaders into responsible citizens and accountable, proactive leaders in the future.

Ureka Forum

The Ureka Forum is UnionBank’s way of affirming its commitment to empower the Filipino to succeed. We understand that there is a growing need for business innovation, as statistically recorded, 95% of the Philippine businesses are SMEs and only 1% of that, have working websites; this, despite the fact that nearly 70% of Filipinos today are online everday. This reality presents a “disconnect” with the current market, when majority of the customers can be found online.

Discovering this disconnect was the "Eureka" moment for UnionBank and our consortium partners, and thus, Ureka Forum was born.

At the Ureka Forum, we bring together a community of experts and organizations that rally behind every Filipino’s capability to multiply entrepreneurial growth ten-fold. We intend to conduct a Ureka Forum Road Show in various key cities and provinces nationwide, the local government partners will also become honorary stakeholders. Other members of the consortium include: the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Shopinas.com, Air21, PanahonTV, Accent Micro Technologies, Inc. (AMTI), PLDT Smart SME Nation, GeiserMaclang Marketing and Communications Inc, and DragonPay.

We commit to elevate business confidence amongst the consortium, through inclusive innovation, relationship-building, and mutual beneficial advocacies.Since Unionbank is spearheading this initiative, we will fulfill the role as the enabler of innovations by providing the payment gateway for the e-Commerce businesses via the EON Visa Debit Card.

Through the insights shared by our consortium partners and industry experts participating in the conference, the Ureka Forum intends to harness the inherent capability of local entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and harness their strategic and critical thinking skills to create a bigger impact on the lives of more Filipinos.

GoBeyond Communities

Since 2014, UnionBank has been empowering its employees to “Make Da Diff” through projects that are geared to specifically help deserving communities in the areas that they serve through the GoBeyond Communities (GoBeyond) program.

Here, employees are the ones who conceptualize and eventually implement community-enriching projects that benefit not only people but also the planet. This program is nationwide in scope, and as such, clusters were formed according to geographical locations to ensure that wherever there is a UnionBank branch, the community it belongs to experiences the Bank’s purpose of elevating lives and fulfilling dreams.

To date, 1,719 volunteers have clocked in a total of 10,459 volunteer hours. Their projects have allowed them to reach over 234 communities or 1,400,000 beneficiaries with donations amounting to over P5 million.

This drive to serve communities has been recognized by international community. The program won a Gold Award for Corporate Social Responsibility Program in the 2015 Asian Banking and Finance Retail Banking Awards.
