UnionBank signs a Memorandum of Understanding with DICT on the UREKA Forum
Union Bank of the Philippines recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for a partnership on the UREKA Forum - the country's biggest mass conversion program for micro, small and medium enterprises.
Under the collaboration, DICT aims to heighten the awareness on e-commerce in the country by providing support and assistance in UREKA Forum activities, specifically resource persons best suited to discuss certain e-commerce topics for UREKA’s “Thought Leadership Series”, “Bootcamp”, and “E-Cadet Program”.
The DICT offers its full support by endorsing the Forum through online and offline amplification, including promotion of UREKA activities on DICT’s website, posters and flyers on-hand in the DICT’s central office, field operations offices and/or regional offices.
UnionBank, through the UREKA Forum, will provide content for the DICT’s “Tech4Ed” Project, which may include modules on the various components of e-commerce.
Present at the signing ceremony were UnionBank Executive Vice President and Head of the Center for Strategic Partnerships Genaro Lapez, DICT Undersecretary Monchito Ibrahim and UnionBank Vice President and UREKA Executive Director James Morris Ileto. Witnessing the signing were Maria Consuelo Ruiz of UnionBank, Nikko Visperas of DICT and Tere Isla of GeiserMaclang Network.
