UnionBank Empowers Its Employees Through the Human Capital Management System
In UnionBank’s pursuit to achieve its goal of becoming a Digital Bank that delivers Smart Banking customer experience at every touchpoint, the strategy of digital transformation in all aspects of the Bank’s operations is paramount.
HR plays an instrumental role in this goal as it is constantly looking for ways to fuel the Bank’s digitization by driving HR services through digital means. HR believes that providing the best employee experience will result to enthusiastic and motivated employees that are engaged in their work, which correlates in creating a high impact and positive customer experience.
This is the reason why UnionBank recently invested in a new, cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Working with multinational technology firm ORACLE, HR saw the value in having information and processes linked by a single, integrated platform that will better provide accessible and insightful data both for the employees and for business leaders as they navigate their career development in the Bank.
It is worth noting that UnionBank is the first Bank in the Philippines that will utilize this cloud-based system.
The Oracle-powered HCM is an integrated tool that will empower the Bank to build expertise, drive results, attract the best-fit talent, and grow leaders. Oracle HCM will better equip UnionBank employees or UnionBankers to easily access their employee data information anytime, anywhere. The simplified system interface will help managers and senior leaders of the Bank to track and optimize their respective team members’ career growth.
HCM will address the perennial issues encountered by most HR in hiring, training and management of employee information processes as it will unify, streamline and automate these systems. Items such as candidate research and relationship management, performance appraisal and monitoring of the career development of employees will be easily tracked.
HCM will also provide talent analytics which is crucial in ensuring that the Bank has a ready pool of talents whenever and wherever the need arises.
Among the HR modules that will be utilized under the cloud-based system will be the HR Core wherein an electronic version of each UnionBanker’s 201 file will be migrated; Recruitment and Onboarding; Learning Management; Performance and Goals Management; and Succession Planning and Career Management.
The security of the Oracle HCM system has incorporated rigid security measures at every layer of its system thereby protecting sensitive company data. Its compliance to international and local security requirements are topnotch including those from BSP regulations.
